Google’s first Ice Cream Sandwich phone to be manufactured by Samsung, ‘Nexus Prime’
We exclusively reported details of Google’s first Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone — either a Nexus device, or a “pure Google” flagship handset from one of Google’s key partners — and we now have more information surrounding the world’s most anticipated Android phone. We reported that the handset would nix physical menu keys going forward, and would feature a monster 720p -resolution display, and we have now confirmed with our source that the screen itself is branded as a “Super AMOLED HD” display. The branding confirms our suspicions that Samsung will indeed be the manufacturer. We have also confirmed that the processor in the upcoming device will be an OMAP4460, just as we originally reported. Hit the jump for more.
This upcoming superphone will not have any carrier preloads or OEM customizations, which goes without saying for a Nexus phone or a reference/flagship Android offering. The current codename is “Prime”, and our source believes it’s possible that the phone could launch as the “Google Nexus Prime.” We also have information that Google’s onslaught of high-end Android devices isn’t going to stop anytime soon. With the Motorola DROID and Motorola XOOM, Google launched its flagship Android devices with one carrier and one OEM, but we’re hearing things might be switched up this time around. Our source indicated that Google could be working with multiple carriers and multiple OEMs on their own “exclusive” Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) halo devices, and that they may all launch around the same time.
Imagine flagship releases from Motorola, HTC, and LG with Ice Cream Sandwich available on AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, and Sprint all at practically the same time… in addition to a Google Nexus handset from Samsung. The summer’s going to be hot, but it looks like the fall might get even hotter.

HTC Windows Phone 7 12 Megapixel Smartphone Leaked
Windows first smartphone with 12 megapixel by HTC, What appears to be a 12-megapixel HTC smartphone running Windows Phone has been caught in the wild, lending weight to rumors that the company is looking to high-resolution cameras to further differentiate its future handsets. Shared by arch-insider Eldar Murtazin, the unknown phone – which resembles an HTC Trophy – is shown set to take 12MP 4000 x 3000 images in the camera app.
Nokia already released 12 megapixel in the market called Nokia N8.
It also cranks up the pressure on Nokia, which had planned to use its high-quality optics as a differentiating factor between it and other Windows Phone OEMs. There’s more to picture quality than a high-megapixel sensor, of course, but with many consumers buying based more on spec sheets than anything else, HTC’s grab at high resolutions could well help keep it ahead of the pack.
He tweeted that the phone supports RAW format. These are the adjustable settings that it offers:
Photo Resolution
Brightness
Contrast
Anti-Banding
Focus
Exposure Metering Mode
Exposure Compensation
RAW Capture
Complete Specification, Feature , Price and release date yet to be announced.

Microsoft Announces a Host of Windows Phone 7 Updates
At MWC 2011, Microsoft just announced a number of improvements for WP7 including the timeline for when its first update will be pushed to devices.
The update with app-loading performance improvements and copy paste support we demoed back at CES finally got a more specific release date - it's slated to launch in early March. A number of other updates are slated for 2011, though Microsoft wouldn't assign a specific date. Those updates include multitasking support for 3rd party applications, better cloud synchronization, more web-services built into hubs, and a completely new web browser.Microsoft recognizes that the browser is probably the single most important mobile application. It needs to be speedy, needs to be usable, and needs to have full feature parity with desktop browsers. Though the WP7 browser feels very fast translating and zooming around, JavaScript was slow and HTML5 support was nonexistent. It was based on the older Trident engine used in pre-IE9 browsers, and never felt like it really belonged in the Web 2.0 or HTML5 era. Coming in 2011, WP7 will get a major update with an IE9 browser complete with the same level of GPU acceleration and HTML5 compatibility of its desktop brother. WP7's mobile IE9 browser will use the same core rendering engine as IE9's.
