Antares the top-shelf range of Toshiba

Toshiba expands its line of Internet tablets with this time, a new top-end: the Toshiba Antares.


After Journ. Touch and Folio 100, Toshiba unveiled the latest addition to its line of Internet Tablets touch. This time, the Japanese manufacturer has well and his new deal with Apple iPad tablet 2 with a high-end named Antares. The new Toshiba tablet differs from the current market shelves by the multitude of intelligent features and the integration of many innovative technologies.

Android Honeycomb

The Toshiba Antares runs the latest version of the operating system from Google, Android 3.0 Honeycomb, a version specifically optimized for digital tablets. Its users can easily access the many free and commercial applications from the Android Market which include Google Books for lovers of electronic books.

High Definition

This slate has a nice digital screen of 10.1 inches 16/10 format which provides excellent comfort for reading or viewing photos that can be taken with the camera of 5 megapixels back or front 2 megapixels. With its powerful nVidia Tegra 2, the Antares shelf supports playback of videos in High Definition. Among these devices, there is also WiFi, 3G, a gyroscope, an accelerometer, a GPS and a USB port.

To put the finishing touches to this tablet multifunction high-end, the Antares Toshiba also has advanced audio features, such as management and restoration including surround sound through stereo speakers.

Availability of shelf Antares

The Toshiba Antares is expected in the first half of 2011. No price has yet been specified by the manufacturer.
