BenQ W1100
The BenQ W1100, a Full HD projector stereo, High definition, stereo 20-watt sound very content ... BenQ offers an interesting solution to home theater.
BenQ announces the W1100, a relatively affordable projector. Sold $ 1049, the main feature of this unit DLP is to display Full HD images (1920 x 1080 pixels). It is not known yet the quality of the image, but if we refer to our recent comparison of projectors, we can hope that, like the W600 + W1100 this is a good value for money.
Stereo sound and full connectivity
Some strong technical characteristics emerge, starting with its 2 x 10 watt stereo and the noise generated by the device. Or rather, should we say, silence. BenQ Announces 22 dB in eco mode and 27 dB in normal mode. The connectivity is also part of the positive points: two HDMI, VGA, S-Video, Composite, Component, line input and headphone output. This gives ample opportunity to connect many devices simultaneously.
A high contrast
To believe the manufacturer's data, the W1100 promises a fairly high contrast ratio (500:1 4). However, we believe, is fairly average brightness (2000 ANSI lumens). It will probably be a household subdued atmosphere to watch his films in good condition. Always on the side of pure technical, BenQ announces autonomy rather conventional lamp (230 watts), a lifetime of 2500 hours in normal mode and 4000 hours in eco mode. About the size of the projected image, BenQ announces a diagonal of 1.65 meters (65 inches) with a decline of 2 m. That is appropriate. More unlikely, if we still believe the manufacturer, the picture could reach 7.6 m diagonal (300 inches). What about the setback distance required and the image quality ...
Finally, if we note that the W1100 does not have lens shift function (offset of the lens), we like the automatic (manual as well as, of course) of the trapezium, indispensable if the device is installed on the ceiling or more generally, on an inclined axis.
