Kingston's HyperX SandForce SSD
Kingston is a pretty big player in the SSD space but mostly on the mainstream/value end of the spectrum. With a fairly conservative strategy we haven't seen Kingston be competitive with higher end drives since the release of the X25-M. That's all about to change now that Kingston is officially a SandForce partner.
The Kingston HyperX SSD uses Intel 25nm NAND and a SF-2281 controller, making it very similar to a Vertex 3 (it's unclear if it'll have the same performance-limited firmware as the OWC drive we tested). The drive will come with a 3-year warranty and be available in 120GB and 240GB capacities. As always, Kingston will offer the drive as a part of an optional upgrade kit which includes a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter, external USB enclosure, Acronis imaging software, SATA cable and a screwdriver. {gallery 1103}]]> Read more...

Kingston HyperX Plug and Play (PnP) Series Memory price, specification, release
Today Kingston has unveiled their latest high-performance enthusiast memory in the form of their new Kingston HyperX Plug and Play (PnP) Series Memory. HyperX PnP memory modules are the first ones to scale the higher memory heights that are a part of the second generation Intel Core i5 and i7 processors.
The Plug and Play (PnP) HyperX memory has been programmed with faster frequencies so when its added to a system with a Sandy Bridge chipset, the memory will automatically ‘play’ at either 1600MHz or 1866MHz, whether the system be a desktop or a notebook system.
Ann Bai, DRAM Memory Sales Director, APAC Region, Kingston explains:
“The HyperX engineering team has been thoroughly innovative in designing a memory module that automatically raises performance with no overclocking steps required,”
The HyperX Plug and Play memory modules range from $67 for a 4GB kit to $163 for 8GB of Non-ECC in SODIMM form and will shortly be available to purchase from Kingston resellers and authorised dealers.
