HTC ChaCha Facebook Android Mobile Review

The HTC ChaChа is a new hаndsеt recently releаsed bу HTC аnd іs dubbеd "The Fасebook Android Phonе." Whіlе thаt maу lеаd yоu tо bеlіevе thiѕ mobile is іn somе wау assocіаted with thе роpular ѕоcіаl netwоrk, much lіke the Googlе рhоne thаt сamе out a fеw yeаrs ago, it іs sadlу nоt. It iѕ, howevеr endorsed bу thе сrеator оf Facebоok, Mark Zuсkеrbеrg duе tо the innovаtіve "Fасebооk Buttоn" which makes іt ѕimple and еasy tо uрdаte уour own Fаcеbооk рrofіle аt thе touсh of а button. This new buttоn соuрlеd with thе fantaѕtic QWERTY keybоard and tоuch ѕсreen makе this рhоne а ѕurе fіre hіt with the yоuth of tоdау whо uѕе ѕoсial networkѕ rеlіgіоuslу and uр untіl now havе uѕed Blackberry рhones, hеnсе whу thiѕ HTC hаѕ а Blасkbеrrу tуpe kеуbоard.

This аssault оn а lаrgе pаrt оf Blасkbеrry's mаrkеt ѕhare іѕ a grеat move, with Blaсkbеrry'ѕ оpеratіng syѕtem wanіng and Andrоid tаking оver the world, HTC hаve made а sоund busineѕs deсision to try аnd temрt kidѕ оntо thеir рhonеs whіlе increasing their ever grоwing busineѕs іn the UK and thе rest оf thе World. All thiѕ busіnеss рlannіng and acсumеn wоuld mean nothіng іf thе рhоnе dіdn't livе uр to thе hуре, thankfully іt dоеѕ and in thiѕ reviеw we'll ѕhоw you why.
Final Review of HTC ChaCha:

Firѕtlу the HTC ChaChа іѕ a mid range phone, meaning іt is not herе to сompеtе with the роwеrhouѕes оf thе ѕmаrtphоne world, it іѕ here tо оffеr а cheapеr altеrnatіve while ѕtіll havіng еnough hаrdwаrе and uѕabilitу to mаkе it а very аttrаctіvе oрtіоn.

Let's ѕtart wіth the Sреcѕ of thе рhоne, іt hаs а verу rеаѕonаblе 800 MHz CPU рrоcеѕsіng ѕpeed, 2.6 inch TFT Capacitive Multi-touch screen display with 480 x 320 pixel resolution, runs with latest version of Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread Operating System(upgradable to 2.3.4), 512 MB of RAM, 512 MB ROM, 5 Mega Pixel саmera with autо fосuѕ and LED flаsh, VGA 0.3MP frоnt саmеrа, Wi-Fi and 3G Connectivity, Micro SD card slot expandable up to 32GB, supports Micro USB 2.0, Bluetooth 3.0, Internal GPS Antenna and 3.5mm Jack. Rесhаrgеаblе Lithium-іоn 1,250mAh bаtterу offers excellent battery life wіth roughly 400 mіnutеs оf talk time and uр tо 640 hоurs standbу time. All this is not bаd at all conѕіdеrіng this phonе саn bе pіckеd uр for freе whеn уou gеt а сontrасt at £18.00 реr month.

Finally HTC ChaCha Android Mobile is available on all leading market stores of other countries. Customers can buy the phone in online with excellent Price tags around 350$ in US and 15,000 Rs in India.

Sо the HTC ChaCha Sреcs lоok gоod аnd thе рricе рoint оf thе phonе is ѕure to аttract a lоt оf intereѕt but hоw gооd iѕ the phone tо uѕe? Wеll іf уou enjоу ѕосіаl nеtwоrks features аnd sоcialіzing vіa thesе netwоrkѕ or via оnlinе meѕsenger/tеxt mеsѕаgіng thеn thе рhone rеally іѕ а blаѕt to uѕe! Thаnkѕ tо thе vеrу nісe QWERTY kеyboard, whіch I prefer tо keуboаrds on the rаngе of Blackberry рhоnеs, it really іѕ a јоу to browѕe Faсеbоok аnd talk to my frіendѕ, plus the tоuсh sсrеen іs great whеn brоwѕing content wеbѕіtеs.

Hаvіng fun оnlіne аnd іntеrаcting viа sосiаl media and Facеbоok reаllу is whаt this рhоne іѕ аll abоut; an аll in one dеvicе thаt iѕ іntuitіvе, easу to uѕе and vеry eаsy tо typе mesѕageѕ to уour friends via Facеboоk, Twіtter or аnу other sосіаl medіа fоr thаt mattеr аnd that spесіаl "Faсebооk Button" mаkes it еvеn eаsier to uplоаd and shаrе cоntent with уour frіеnds. Uрloading рісturеs is а brеezе, just аѕѕоcіatе your ChaCha wіth yоur profile аnd аnу timе уоu want tо роst a pіс to аn аlbum, on yоur wаll, or оn yоur frіends wall yоu sіmply fіnd the picture оn yоur phonе and presѕ the buttоn.

Your ChаChа will do the rest, no mеsѕing around and nо fuѕs - juѕt ѕеamlеss аnd іntuіtіvе. Thіѕ wоrks wеll for оther aѕресtѕ, fоr instance when you listen to musiс уоu can hit thе buttоn and thе аrtіst and trаck will show up on your prоfіle/wаll, уou саn еvеn іntеgrate оther soсial mеdіа ѕuch аs Twitter аnd usе thе "Fасeboоk Button" to еasilу post uрdatеѕ.

Final Conclusion of HTC ChaCha :

All in аll іf уоu arе hоokеd, like mаny peoplе, to Fасebook and wаnt tо ѕhаre yоur life with уour onlіnе frіеndѕ then the HTC ChaChа іs а android рhonе thаt уоu will rеаllу get а lоt оf uѕe аnd enjоуmеnt оut оf аnd at ѕuсh a lоw pricе point it haѕ nеvеr been bеttеr to get a smartрhоne lіke thiѕ onе. While I thіnk thіѕ phonе іs grеat for users оf Facеbооk, іf, lіkе mе yоu dо not uѕе thе sociаl nеtwork often then, nеedleѕѕ tо staу уour moneу is better sрent elѕewhere.

ASUS P8P67 Review

Today, we will be looking at the ASUS P8P67. Although the board has been available for some time, this is one of ASUS' cheaper full size P67 ATX offerings. Considering it has a price tag of $155 ($140 with rebate), it offers quite a few useful features such as DIGI+ VRM, BT GO! (Bluetooth), a total of four USB 3.0 ports, and Quad-GPU CrossFireX support.

Seagate GoFlex Satellite Mobile Wireless Storage Review

Legit Storage Reviews

My 500 GB Apple iPad 2!

Wouldn't it be great to watch any one of many HD videos you own while on that 1 1/2 hour subway ride?  Well now you can.  Seagate recently released the latest addition to their GoFlex line of external hard drives, the Seagate GoFlex Satellite mobile wireless storage system.  The key words here are "mobile" and "wireless".
This 500GB external HDD is more than just a shell on a 2.5" hard drive supporting USB 3.0 connectivity and external power brick.  This drive has its own battery supply and integrated 802.11n wireless access point all in the same form factor as other external drives in the GoFlex line.

Since companies like Apple release fixed configuration devices such as the iPad and iPhone Seagate saw a need for people with large libraries of multimedia beyond the maximum 64GB on the largest iPad.  Since all these modern devices support 802.11n, Seagate thought: wireless + hard drive + battery = success.

The only limit is you can only stream to 3 devices at a time and the Lithium Ion batteries provide a maximum of 5 hours of streaming.  Each of the three devices are able to watch the same or different content so it is like your own local cloud storage service.  To supplement this, Seagate provides a wall to USB power plug and 12 volt car plug to USB power so you can take the Goflex on longer trips.

To transfer files onto the GoFlex Satellite, Seagate provides a USB 3.0 connection that is ultra fast giving me over 170MB/s transfer rates.  My 650MB file took mere seconds to copy onto the Satellite.

Seagate has the GoFlex Satellite at an MSRP of $199.99 and due to this being a very new device that is the price we found it at the few retailers that currently carry the GoFlex Satellite mobile wireless device.   I am sure once inventories increase we will see it avaliable in more stores.

Current Seagate GoFlex Satellite pricing:

The GoFlex Satellite comes with a 3 year warranty from Seagate.

In order to show you all the features, the interface, and set up we did this review as a HD video that you can watch below.

GIGABYTE Z68X-UD7-B3 Intel Z68 Motherboard Review

Legit Motherboard Reviews

The GIGABYTE Z68X-UD7-B3 - The New Flagship

GIGABYTE Z68-UD7-B3 Motherboard Layout

GIGABYTE has been building computer components for going on twenty five years now. Consistently improving, redesigning and bringing new features to the market, GIGABYTE is on the leading edge of the market. Over the past couple of years, I have used several GIGABYTE motherboards in some of my personal systems, and reviewed even more GIGABYTE products. Throughout my personal experience with GIGABYTE products, I have always been happy with the GIGABYTE products. Hopefully when all is said and done, today will be no different!

Today we have the top of the line Intel Z68 express chipset motherboard from GIGABYTE, the GIGABYTE Z68X-UD7-B3! Being the flagship socket 1155 motherboard from GIGABYTE, the Z68X-UD7-B3 isn't priced for faint of heart. It  is priced for those of us that will pay for the quality and want all the features that the GIGABYTE Z68X-UD7-B3 had to offer! Right now you can pick up the GIGABYTE Z68X-UD7-B3 for as little as $337.91 Plus shipping.

There are two main features that were essentially added to the Intel P67 Chipset to make up the new Z68 chipset. The first is Intel Smart Response Technology, a quote about Intel Smart Response Technology from Joe's article:

Using the latest version of Rapid Storage Technology drivers (10.5) and adjusting some easy settings in the Intel Control Center you essentially create a RAID configuration which treats the SSD as a cache for the most frequently used data. Access then comes via the faster SSD rather than the slower HDD, increasing performance markedly. Right now, some are thinking, wait, this isn't new...we've seen a version of this before! The voices in your head are correct. A while back we had a look at the Seagate Momentus XT Hybrid drive which essentially employs the same concept, albeit all bundled on a single drive.

Intel HD Graphics

The second feature that was employed was the ability to use the Intel HD Graphics on the second generation Intel Core iX series processors. While the graphic aren't that spectacular for gaming purposes, they do have a number of capabilities that can be quite handy. One of which is Intel Quick Sync Video, also commonly referred to as Intel QSV. Intel QSV completes the video processing on the hardware instead of on the software.

For some reason, GIGABYTE chose not to implement the second half of the Intel Z68 chipset features on the GIGABYTE Z68X-UD7-B3. Gigabyte hinted that enthusiasts wouldn't be wanting that feature on a high-end board like the Z68X-UD7, but since consumers are paying an extra $55 for this board over the P67A-UD7 we think that choice should be up to them.

GIGABYTE P67A-UD7-B3 24 Phase Power Design

The GIGABYTE Z68X-UD7-B3 has 24 Phases of power being delivered to the CPU help to build a much more reliable power delivery system. The entire GIGABYTE 6 series of motherboards uses DUAL CPU Power Technology. This technology allows the CPU VRM power phases to split into a pair of power engines that work together. In the case of the Z68X-UD7-B3 12 phases will be inactive while the other 12 are supplying power.

GIGABYTE Dual CPU Power Technology

If you are using your shiny new GIGABYTE Z68X-UD7-B3 for some light work like web browsing or any other task that isn't very CPU intensive, the Dual CPU Power Technology will drop the number of phases that are active. Fire up an application like Folding at Home that will really use the CPU power that you have and the GIGABYTE Z68X-UD7-B3 will increase the number of active phases up to the maximum 24 for the ultimate power delivery system.

Intersil PWM controller VRD12

Speaking of power phases, all of the GIGABYTE 6 series motherboards use an Intersil PWM controller. The Intersil PWM controller has been approved by Intel and is VRD 12 compliant. The Intel approved PWM controller offers SerialVID (SVID); this transfers power management information from the processor to the voltage regulator controller. This allows a more efficient signaling control between the CPU and PWM controller. What does this mean for the end user? Ideally, a more energy efficient system.

GIGABYTE P67A-UD7-B3 Driver Mosfets

Traditional power delivery consists of a pair pf discrete PowerMOS and a driver IC. GIGABYTE has incorporated these components into a single chip. Doing this gives us several advantages. One of these advantages is size. The area required to mount the Driver MOSFET's is reduced by 50%. This will leave real estate available on the PCB for other integrated devices. Driver MOSFET's can achieve increased efficiency and higher power transfer at higher switching frequencies. This will help satisfy the growing power needs of the current processors.

One aspect of the Intel Z68 chipset that is an issue for some is the limited number of PCI express lanes. Being limited to a total of 16 lanes some companies have thrown in a third party chip to add some lanes. ASUS used the PLX PEX8608 chip to add a few extra lanes on the ASUS P8P67 Deluxe to bring the total number of PCIe lanes to 24. 20 of which are usable by the PCIe graphics. GIGABYTE went a different route, they added the NVIDIA NF200 chip to give a total of 32 PCIe lanes to the P67A-UD7-B3. This allows the Z68X-UD7-B3 to operate a pair of cards at x16 each or four cards at x8 each.

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC Edition Video Card Review

Legit Video Card Reviews

Welcome to the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC Edition Video Card

Today we are going to be looking at an add-in-board partners version of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 video card that might be worth your hard earned money. The card we are looking at today is made by Gigabyte and has the GPU core clock and shaders factory overclocked, so you get an extra performance boost without having to get your hands dirty with overclocking utilities and software. The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC comes clocked at 830 MHz core, 1660 MHz shaders and 4008 MHz on the GDDR5 memory ICs. The NVIDIA reference design for the GeForce GTX 560 video card is 810 MHz core, 1620 MHz shaders and 4008 MHz memory. As you can see, Gigabyte left the memory clocks alone, but increased the core clock by 20MHz and the shader clock by 40MHz. This is a mild overclock when you step back and look at it, but Gigabyte isn't charging any extra for this overclock as it is their entry level NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 card design! In fact, this video card is the least expensive of the 14 GeForce GTX 560 video cards that are being sold right now on Newegg.com! So, how much is the card? The GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 560 OC GV-N56GOC-1GI video card is $169.99 after a $20 mail-in rebate!

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC Video Card Retail Packaging

Now we all know that Gigabyte is one of the leading motherboard manufacturers in the world, but did you know they were in the business of making video cards as well? Well... they are. But I guess the better question would be, do they make a good video card? That is what this article is for. Gigabyte was founded way back in 1986 in Taipei, Taiwan and back then they supplied motherboards to custom computer makers. But now, all these years later, all you have to do is pull the side panel off of a case and chances are you will see one of Gigabyte's products, whether it be a motherboard, video card, or even mice and keyboards.

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC Video Card

The Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC Video Card features NVIDIA PhysX technology as well as NVIDIA 3D Vision Surround, 3D Vision and Pure Video HD, all of which make your movie watching, or better yet your gaming experience, a far more beautiful and immersive experience. Now, let's not forget SLI, because when you put two Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC Video Cards together you get the ability to nearly double your video gaming pleasure. In these times of tight budgets most people's first question is, "How Much?" Well, the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC (GV-N56GOC-1GI) Video Card will set you back $169.99 shipped. This also carries a 3 year warranty.

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC Video Card

But the big star here today is the Windforce cooler on the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC (GV-N56GOC-1GI) Video Card. With two 100mm fans inclined toward each other it creates a kind of anti-turbulence that not only moves more air away and keeps your new video card nice and cool with 30.5 CFM of airflow from each fan, but it is also very quiet coming in at a mere 31 db at full speed, and full speed is 2000 RPM. Not too bad, if you ask me. You may very surprised by what we found when we tried to fry this card with a full load. I don't want to stop there, though, because there is much more to the Windforce cooler than its inclined fans and quiet operation. It also features four 6mm copper direct contact heat pipes to help dissipate that hot air that surrounds your Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC (GV-N56GOC-1GI) Video Card while it is trying to help you pwn n00b's. And if you are worried that the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC (GV-N56GOC-1GI) Video Card won't fit into your case, worry not as it weighs in at a little over 9 inches long and a little over 5 inches high, and it is a double slot width video card so the Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC Video Card will have very little problem fitting into most modern cases sold on the market today.

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC Video Card

Gigabyte currently makes 4 versions of the GTX 560 Series GPU:

  • Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 OC(GV-N56GOC-1GI)
  • 830 MHz Core Clock/4008 MHz memory Clock at $169.99
  • Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 Ti SO (GV-N560SO-1GI-950)

  • Gigabyte GeForce GTX 560 Ti OC (GV-N560OC-1GI)
  • 900 MHz Core Clock/4000 MHz memory Clock at $296.65

Looks like Gigabyte has made sure there is a card for everyone's taste as well as their budget. As you can see, all of the video cards listed above are from the Ti series. At the time of this writing Gigabyte does not make any other non Ti card than the one we are looking at today. Sentey GS-6000 Optimus Mid Tower Case Review

Legit Case Reviews

Sentey Optimus GS-6000 PC Case

Sentey is an up and coming company from the USA. Sentey would like to be an internationally known company with the idea of enhancing the PC builders experience in an ever growing world of technology. Sentey has a base philosophy of four words, performance, quality, innovation, and sustainability. We will take a look at the new Sentey Optimus GS-6000 to see if this affordable PC mid-tower case meets Sentey's own philosophy.

gs-6000frontprofile

The Sentey GS-6000 Optimus chassis takes a dive into the under $50 range of mid-tower cases as it is currently priced at $49.99 with free shipping at Newegg .  We will see how much technology is in this Sentey case for the price. At first glance the case looks sharp and offers some nice features for the price. After the first glance let's see what this PC case has to offer that may help us build and transform our opinion of Sentey and the Optimus GS-6000.

The sub $50 price range should appease to the most any PC builder. Entry and novice builders should have an easy time building with this case and the fours fans that come installed on it. There is support for water cooling if an experienced builder wants an affordable case in which they can build their machines.

The Sentey Optimus GS-6000 comes only in black. There appears to be a modified version, GS-6000R that is also black but has a red outlining in the photograph on the Sentey site. Sentey classifies these cases in the subset of their extreme category. There are LED lights on some of the case fans for a gamers' delight

We never like to see a new item break down but sometimes it happens to the best of us. Sentey has a one year warranty that seems to be the norm with this category of PC case. The case seems to have a simple layout on the inside so one would think that this peace of mind won't need to be used no matter who the builder is.

This case is clearly for the budget friendly gamer. One who is looking to experiment with water cooling may want to take a look at this series. An entry level builder may also be happy with this case as a flashy first build. An advanced build may also take a long look at this case with the features that comes with it for the price. Below we will take a look at what Sentey's Optimus GS-6000 features are, which might just pursue a PC builder it's way.

Intel Core i3-2120 3.3GHz Sandy Bridge Processor Review

Legit Processor Reviews

Intel Core i3-2120 CPU - BX80623I32120

Last week when we reviewed the AMD A-Series Llano A8-3850 APU we had a bunch of readers wanting to see performance compared to more Intel Sandy Bridge processors. One of the processors that we were asked about was the Intel Core i3-2120, which retails for $149.68 and is one of the most popular budget-minded processors in the Intel arsenal today. We heard you and have gotten our hands on a retail boxed Intel Core i3-2120 processor to see how it performs against the Intel Core i3-2105, Core i7-2600k and the AMD A8-3850 APU. Before we jump into the benchmarks and testing we should at least show you the basic features of this processor and what comes with the retail boxed version.

The Intel Core i3-2120 is based on the 32nm 'Sandy Bridge' architecture and is a 3.3GHz dual-core processor with Hyper-Threading. The CPU does have a GPU on it and that would be the Intel HD Graphics 2000, which runs between 850MHz and 1100MHz thanks to a dynamic clock cycle. The multiplier is locked on the Core i3-2120 processor as it is not part of the 'K-series' of processors that are aimed at enthusiasts with unlocked multipliers.

Intel Core i3-2120 CPU Specifications:

  • Model #: BX80623I32120

  • S-spec: SR05Y

  • Launch Date: Q1'11

  • Processor Number: i3-2120

  • Supported Socket: LGA1155

  • # of Cores: 2

  • # of Threads: 4

  • Clock Speed: 3.3 GHz

  • Intel Smart Cache: 3 MB

  • Bus/Core Ratio: 33

  • Instruction Set: 64-bit

  • Instruction Set Extensions: SSE4.1/4.2, AVX

  • Turbo Core: No

  • Hyper-Threading Technology: Yes

  • Lithography: 32 nm

  • Processor Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 2000

  • Graphics Base Frequency: 850MHz

  • Graphics Max Dynamic Frequency: 1100MHz

  • Max TDP: 65 W

  • Recommended Channel Price: $138.00

Since our review sample it the retail box Core i3-2120 (part number BX80623I32120) the processor comes with a CPU cooler along with a three year limited warranty. If you buy a tray processor you do not get the Heatsink Fan combo or the longer warranty.

As you can see this Intel Core i3-2120 is not an Engineering Sample processor and batch number of L047B255. You can also see the S-Spec number SR05Y on the integrated heat spreader (IHS) and that it was made in the country of Malaysia.

The Intel Core i3-2120 processor is designed for LGA1155 platforms and has a slightly different arrangement of resistors on the bottom of the processor compared to some of the other Sandy Bridge processors since some use Intel HD Graphics 2000 and others use Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics.  In the image above you can see the difference between the Intel Core i3-2120 with Intel HD Graphics 2000 and the Intel Core i3-2105 and Core i7-2600K that use Intel HD Graphics 3000.  If you want to use Intel Processor Graphics (PG) of the CPU you need to use a motherboard with the H67, or Z68 chipset that has video outputs and not the P67 based motherboards that don't support PG.

Top Upcoming Tablet in the Market 2011, Specification, Feature, Review and Price

While the iPad attracted the elite crowd and the Apple fanboys, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab was the only other real option for a tablet. The sub-25K price bracket suddenly witnessed a surge in cheap Android based tablets, most of which were quite bad to be even called a tablet like the HCL Me AE7, ZingLife E-Pad and Creative’s ZiiO 7. Plus, the Motorola Xoom and the HTC Flyer have only just started rolling out, giving you even more choices. It doesn't stop here, let’s take a look at some of the tablets that are yet to arrive in 2011.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
The successor to the Galaxy Tab P1000, the Tab 10.1 will go up against the Motorola Xoom and the Acer A500 3G variant (if Acer actually launched this). Specification wise, it’s practically identical to the other two, so the deciding factor will have to be the user experience and ergonomics of the tablet. Acer has done little to no customization with the A500 (apart from some widgets) and we’ve not reviewed the Xoom yet, so we can’t comment on that, we really hope Samsung delivers on their TouchWiz user interface. Now I know their UI hasn’t exactly got them many fans when compared to HTC’s Sense but if they can pull off something like they did with the Galaxy S II, then we have some competition. No word on the price yet, but I guess it would launch at around the 35K mark.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 Features -
10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen with Samsung’s PLS display technology
Supports resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels
3G, Wi-Fi or Wi-Fi only model to be available
Bluetooth v3.0 + EDR
GPS with A-GPS support for Google Maps
3.1MP rear AF camera with LED flash and 720p video recording capability, 2MP forward facing camera for video calling.
1080p HD@30fps video playback, DivX and Xvid support
Stereo speakers
Available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB editions with micro SD card support up to 32GB.

Toshiba Thrive
While we rarely see many Toshiba products in India, other than a few notebooks and portable drives, it's hard to say when or if, will this ever come to India. Nevertheless, we shouldn’t ignore this 10.1-inch slab of glass, as it has some very unique features not found in the other tablets. For starters, this is the first Android tablet to have a removable battery and will launch with Android 3.1. It will also feature an SD card slot capable of handling 128GB SDXC cards and will come with a ExFAT driver enabling it to handle up to 1TB external hard drives over the USB port. Hopefully, Toshiba realizes the growing tablet market in India and will launch this quickly.

The Toshiba Thrive also features -
10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen with 1280x800 pixel resolution
Wi-Fi 'n' support
Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR
GPS with A-GPS support for Google Maps
5MP Autofocus rear camera, 2MP front facing camera
Available in 8GB, 16GB, 32GB editions with micro SD card support up to 32GB

Dell Streak 7
Dell’s next stint with tablets comes in the form of a slightly larger version of their first Streak phone. Called the Streak 7, the dimensions are more in line with BlackBerry’s PlayBook which will be their first target. The tablet is powered by Froyo and an Nvidia Tegra 2 CPU along with a 5MP auto-focus camera and buttons on the bezel which we don’t see on other tablets. The HTC Flyer which also sports a 7-inch screen should provide stiff competition once this releases. Once again, nothing on the India availability or pricing as of now. The Streak 7 will appeal mostly to people who liked the form factor of the PlayBook, but wanted the flexibility of Android. Sadly, Dell has no plans to launch the Streak 7 in India anytime soon so you'll have to import one if you want to get it.

The Dell Streak 7 features -
7-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels
3G, Wi-Fi
Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP
GPS with A-GPS support
5MP rear AF camera with 720p video recording capability, 1.3MP forward facing camera for video calling
MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV video playback
16GB built-in storage with micro SD card support up to 32GB

Motorola Xoom
Motorola XOOM tablet feature a 5 megapixel auto-focus camera at rear side with dual-LED flash and capable of 720p HD video recording at 30 fps. Motorola XOOM tablet also equipped with 2 megapixel fron facing video call camera. It comes with dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity and can be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot.According to sources Verizon US version of Motorola XOOM will be getting a 4G/LTE update very soon. This tablet is available with 16 GB, 32 GB, 64GB of onboard storage memory options.

Motorola XOOM tablet features and specs also include microSD card slot (up to 32GB), Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, Accelerometer, compass,  three-axis gyro-sensor, barometer sensor, GPS with A-GPS support on all models, Dual-band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity, Wi-Fi hotspot, Optional 3G connectivity (data only) – HSPA or 1xEV-DO (LTE via upgrade), HD TV-Out via microHDMI port, microUSB with host functionality, Flash-enabled web browser, 10 hours video playback and 3.3 days of music playback.
The Motorola Xoom features
10.1” screen of 1280 x 800 pixels resolution
1 GHz dual-core processor tegra 2
1 GB DDR2 RAM
Android Honeycomb 3.0 operating system
32 GB on-board storage memory expandable Upto 32 GB micro SD external memory support
5 megapixel rear-camera & 2 megapixel front camera

Acer Aspire 7740 Laptop Review

Acer Aspire 7740-5142 Specifications:

17.3-inch HD+ LED-backlit display (1600 x 900, glossy finish)
Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel Core i3-330M (2.13GHz, 3MB Cache)
4GB DDR3 Memory (2GB x 2GB)
Intel GMA HD Integrated Graphics
6-cell 48Wh battery, 65W 19V AC adapter
Dimensions: 16.2" x 10.8" x 1.6-1.8"
Weight: 6lbs 14.3oz

The Acer Aspire 7740 is a 17.3-inch multimedia notebook designed for people who want a lot of features for not a lot of money. This notebook costs $749 while still offering an Intel Core i3-330M processor, Intel GMA HD graphics, Blu-ray drive, and a HD+ LED-backlight display. In this review, we take an in-depth look at its performance and see how well it stacks up against the competition.

Build and Design

For a 17.3-inch notebook, the Acer Aspire 7740 does a good job of hiding its size with a slim profile. From the side, it appears shorter than expected with the lower chassis standing not much higher than the VGA-port's height. The design tapers off at the front giving the palmrest a nice sharp edge. The color scheme is well thought-out with a glossy, dark-blue screen-cover, metallic blue palmrest and keyboard trim, and black keyboard. The only visible branding is a moderately sized Acer logo displayed front and center. One aspect that concerned us was the amount of space left open around the keyboard that could have been used for multimedia keys or other functions.

Build quality of the Aspire 7740 is above average with a solid body that doesn't have much flex. The screen cover provides decent impact protection for the LCD and doesn't allow the screen to be distorted unless firmly pressed from the back side. The glossy paint on the screen lid resists light scratches and seems to hold up under normal daily abuse from carrying it around. The palmrest and keyboard trim resist smudging and managed to stay clean throughout most of the review period.

Inside, the palmrest and keyboard show little or no flex under pressure. The palmrest doesn't compress one millimeter when squeezed with extreme force. The rigid chassis does a good job of holding up the body panels  attached to it and doesn't squeak or creak under normal use. The screen hinges feel strong and hold the screen tightly closed. Overall, the body feels solid enough to survive a typical notebook's lifespan.

Users looking to upgrade the Acer Aspire 7740 will find it easy to get to components through a single cover on the back of the notebook. Taking off the panel gives you access to the wireless card, hard drive, and system memory.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The Aspire 7740 uses a floating island-style keyboard that is comfortable to type on but causes a few hang-ups when trying to type quickly. Since this keyboard doesn't have an internal bezel structure or solid key design, it is easy to hit the top of another key when you finger is fully pressing a neighboring key and trying to slide over at the same time. I got used to it after a few hours and learned to lift my finger fully off the key before sliding to the next key in my typing motion. The keyboard layout takes advantage of the chassis and offers a four-key wide number pad with room to spare on each side.

One thing missing from the keyboard layout is quick-access media keys. It was surprising that a notebook designed entirely around multimedia use with a Blu-ray drive didn't offer touch-sensitive buttons for volume control or media playback. Instead this notebook has quick-access buttons for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, backup software, and a customizable program launch.

The touchpad on this notebook is an ALPS design model with a spacious layout and multitouch gesture support. The touchpad is quick to respond, but we did notice just a hair of lag in fast gestures. Refresh times are great which helps prevent a choppy mouse movement when moving around. Sensitivity out of the box was good but not perfect, and no adjustment for sensitivity was found in the ALPS control menu. For users who don't want to accidentally move the cursor while typing, there's a button located to the right of the touchpad to  disable the touch surface.

Acer Aspire 1830T Timeline X Laptop Review

Acer Aspire 1830T-68U118  specifications:

Intel Core i7 680UM processor (1.46GHz, 4MB L3 cache)
11.6-inch 1366x768 HD display with LED backlighting
4GB DDR3 memory
500GB 5400rpm HDD
Intel HD integrated graphics
Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11n wireless
Bluetooth 3.0 (Foxconn BCM92046)
6-cell Li-ion battery
Dimensions: 11.22 (w) x 8.03 (d) x1.01-1.10 (h) inches
Weight: 3.09 pounds

Build and Design

The Acer Aspire Timeline X series is the latest generation of thin and light notebooks from Acer designed to offer solid performance and long battery life in a surprisingly lightweight package. At first glance it's easy to mistake the Aspire 1830T for one of the dozens of Acer netbooks that have shown up over the last few years. Looks, however, can be deceiving.

Build quality is quite good despite the diminutive size of this laptop. The combination of relatively thick matte plastics and black brushed aluminum palmrests leave the notebook feeling solid and showing almost no signs of flex. The screen stays firmly shut with a good amount of tension from the screen hinges when closed. Protection from the screen cover is only adequate; the cover flexes quite easily and distortions appeared on the display when we applied pressure to the back of the cover. Opening up the screen you can tell the hinges should hold up for a long time with strong tension that prevents the screen from flopping around once opened. The body of the notebook seems to be well designed with minimal chassis flex and no obvious creaks from the plastics.

One area of the design that impressed me was the bottom of the notebook. The expansion bay provides access to the hard drive, the WLAN and optional WWAN card slots as well as two RAM sockets. The single cover panel is held in place by five screws (my only complaint), so you'll have a spend a minute or two loosing all of those screws before you can swap out the hard drive or add more RAM. That said, I'm always happy to see when manufacturers make it easy for owners to upgrade their notebooks.

Ports and Features

Port selection on the Aspire 1830T is fairly standard for a modern netbook or 11-inch ultraportable notebook. Acer gives you three USB 2.0 ports, HDMI-out, VGA, LAN, and audio jacks. It also features a SDHC-card slot for expanding internal storage or just loading images off your camera while traveling. Since we're starting to see USB 3.0 on more consumer notebooks and there are many USB 3.0 external hard drives on the market we really wish Acer had found a way to put at least one USB 3.0 port on this $900 notebook.
